“I love to love. I’m the Founder and Executive Director of TrueName, but I don’t lead it…this is a Spirit led ministry. He leads, and I follow. He calls me worthy and I am just thankful to be His vessel.
My passion is just loving people right where they are with no judgment. Weather that be in a strip club spending time with the dancers or walking the streets and spending time with prostitutes. TrueName is a group of women who are called to go out and love other women in a world of insecurity and judgment.
I was married to an addict and we were together for over 10 years. His addiction did make me very sick. Although I have never struggled with substance abuse I was addicted to a human. There were times I honestly didn’t care if I lived to see the next day, going days without showering and losing job after job, evicted from place after place because my focus was on him. The day it all changed is when I gave it ALL to God and realized all I need is Him, not man.
Addiction doesn’t just have to do with drugs and alcohol. Addiction is putting something else before God, yourself, your family. When something becomes your idol that’s your addiction.
Being more than addiction means waking up every day and taking a deep breath knowing I’m more than enough because my identity doesn’t lie in man, my identity is in Christ Jesus!”
